The chair series "CHAIR" is an exploration of typography combined with comfortable chairs designed for residential spaces. The material fusion of wood and plastic is durable and resilient, suitable for both indoor and outdoor environments. Wood, a warmly inviting material, contributes to the coziness essential for lounge furniture, complemented by the moderately deep seating area. The transparent plastic seat shell (white in the model) introduces an unconventional and modern aesthetic, enhanced by the typography incorporated into the armrests. The lettering consists of strict, straight lines paired with graceful, curved arcs, collectively crafting a stylish and relaxed design language. The typography's design is also rooted in its functional aspect: stability. The goal was to maintain letter legibility while simultaneously creating a range of practical chairs.
For the depicted model, vector graphics were employed to create the armrests. Using laser cutting, the designs were etched onto HDF panels. Initially, a blue foam model was crafted for the seat shell. In subsequent stages, this model was reconstructed in Fusion 360 and 3D printed.
